Pietro Guarneri 3/4 Model, 2022

This smaller double bass features elements of masters Guarneri, Guadagnini and Pressenda. The unmistakable Italian elegance of the outline is not only beautiful in appearance, but easy to get around from the bottom to the top. And years of acoustic research and the selection of highly resonant spruce and poplar ensure that the low end has both profundity and definition, in spite of its convenient size.

Materials: Book-matched spruce (picea abies) from the Eggental Valley of South Tirol, Italy. North American poplar (populus deltoides, or Cottonwood) sides, back and neck. Premium German ebony fingerboard, tailpiece and cork-lined endpin with removable screw tip. Tomastik Belcanto medium strings. Brass and stainless steel tuning machines hand-made by Andrew Brown. Oil varnish with shellac finish.
